Project Dates
Project Summary
The Doty Fine Arts (DFA) building in the Kendra Scott Center project will begin on Monday, February 17th, 2025, and last through March 3rd, 2025.
The project aims to enhance accessibility by illuminating the route from 23rd Street and Trinity Street to the first-floor west entry of the DFA building.
During the project, pedestrian walkways may be impacted and signage communicating alternate routes will be posted.
Vehicle and bicycle traffic will remain open.
Project Location: Construction will occur on the first floor of the Doty Fine Arts (DFA) building in the Kendra Scott Center. The project will affect the outdoor walkways at the front entrances.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian Impacts: The walkways in front of and leading to the west doorways of the first floor Kendra Scott Center (KSC) will only be accessible as emergency exits. These west doorways will serve as emergency exits only. Pedestrians needing to enter the building will be redirected to the second floor north, east, and west entrances.
Vehicle Impacts: No vehicle impacts.
Bicycle Impacts: None. Bicyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Parking Impacts: No parking impacts.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
