Project Dates
Project Summary
The work being done at the Biological Laboratories building (BIO) and the Biological Greenhouse (BOT), is planned from May 31 to mid-June. This project will focus on securing roof tiles damaged by recent storms to protect pedestrian safety.
Project Location: The Biological Laboratories building (BIO) is located at 205 W 24th St, Austin, TX, and the Biological Greenhouse (BOT) is located at 205A W 24th St, Austin, TX.
Major anticipated outcomes/benefits/ of the completed project: This will provide a safe walkway for pedestrians traveling around the BIO and BOT buildings.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian impact: The south sidewalk of BIO between Whitis Avenue and University Avenue will be fenced off and closed, however, the southwest entrance will still be accessible. Pedestrians will be able to travel on the west, north, and east sidewalks of the building and there will be overhead protection at every entry and will remain accessible.
Traffic impact: There are no expected impacts to vehicular traffic.
Bicycle impact: Bike lanes will not be affected; however, the southeast bicycle rack will not be available. Bicyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Parking Impact: There are no expected parking impacts.
