Project Dates
Project Summary
The Dinosaur Trackways Building (DTB) is scheduled to start demolition early April. A new facility is being designed and construction is expected to begin in Fall 2026.
Project Location: 402 Trinity Street, Austin, TX 78705. North of Texas Science and Natural History Museum, and south of San Jacinto Garage.
Major Anticipated Outcomes/Benefits of Completed Project: The dinosaur track pieces will be cleaned and preserved during this time and then put back into the new building once it is complete.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian impact: On occasion, there may be slight delays at the sidewalk on Trinity Street in front of the Dinosaur Trackways Building and the Museum. All other paths of travel will be open, as shown in blue on the map above.
Traffic impact: On occasion, there may be slight delays on Trinity Street near the museum and at the Trinity Street entrance to San Jacinto Garage.
Bicycle impact: On occasion, there may be slight delays on Trinity Street near the museum and at the Trinity Street entrance to San Jacinto Garage.
Parking Impact: Parking stalls in front of the Museum will not be available.
