Temporary Construction Notice
Project Dates: March 16-March 22
Project Location: San Jacinto Boulevard between 20th Street and Trinity Street.Roadway Impacts: A section of San Jacinto Boulevard between 20th Street and Trinity Street will be closed to through traffic.
Vehicular traffic heading southbound on San Jacinto Boulevard will be detoured to DeLoss Dodds Way.
Vehicular traffic heading northbound on Trinity Street from East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be detoured south on San Jacinto Boulevard back to East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Signage will be posted at key locations, and flaggers will be present to assist with wayfinding
Pedestrian and ADA Access Impacts: During this time, a section of the west sidewalk along San Jacinto Boulevard between 20th Street and Trinity Street will be closed. Pedestrians may use the bridge on the west sidewalk near 20th Street, and follow the path between Caven Clark Field and Waller Creek back to San Jacinto Boulevard.Bicycle Impacts: No bike lanes will be affected. Bicyclists may follow the same path as pedestrians. Cyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Bus Impacts: Due to Spring Break, UT Shuttle service will not operate during this time. Mainline bus service will continue, but routes or schedules may be adjusted. Please check CapMetro for any changes.
Parking Impacts: Parking will not be affected.

Project Dates
Project Location: This project is located on the site south of East 20th Street between San Jacinto Boulevard and Robert Dedman Drive.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian Impacts: The eastbound sidewalk on East 20th Street and the southbound sidewalk on Robert Dedman Drive will be closed for the project's duration, but the westbound sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians.
Travel Impacts: Robert Dedman Drive and San Jacinto Boulevard will maintain two lanes of traffic, although temporary lane closures may occur during construction. East 20th Street will be temporarily closed for utility work from January 30th to Summer 2026. Northbound travelers on San Jacinto Boulevard will be rerouted to Deloss Dodds Way. Southbound travelers on San Jacinto Boulevard will be detoured to East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Northbound and southbound travelers on Robert Dedman Drive will be rerouted to East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Parking Impacts: Street parking will be removed on the southbound side of Robert Dedman Drive and the eastbound side of East 20th Street. Alternative parking is available in any University parking garage, except the Conference Center Garage (CCG), with the display of a permit and state-issued ADA placard or plate. Parking is also available in any other ADA space or D+ space with a valid ADA placard or plate on a space-available basis. For F36 permit holders, parking is available on the east side of Robert Dedman Drive in Lot 80.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if necessary.
