Project Dates
Project Summary
This work will support our critical infrastructure by replacing two boilers at the Hal C. Weaver Power Plant.
Project Location: Hal C. Weaver Power Plant (PPL), 301 E 24th St, Austin, TX 78712
Project Impacts
Pedestrian and ADA Access Impacts: During this time, a section of the west pedestrian sidewalk along San Jacinto Boulevard near the south corner of East 24th Street will be intermittently closed only during active truck deliveries. When deliveries are not occurring, the sidewalk will remain open and unaffected. Flaggers will be on-site to reroute pedestrians during delivery periods.
To avoid delays, pedestrians traveling north or south on San Jacinto Boulevard may cross to the east sidewalk at either the DeLoss Dodds Way crosswalk or the 24th Street crosswalk.
Travel Impacts: During truck deliveries, traffic will be temporarily delayed.
Bus Impacts: The CapMetro station at East 24th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard, with bus routes 103, 640, 935, has shifted south to the corner of East 23rd Street and San Jacinto Boulevard.
Parking Impacts: Three F parking spots on the west side of San Jacinto Boulevard will be unavailable during the duration of the project.
Bicycle Impacts: There are no bicycle impacts. Bicyclists are always encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
