Project Summary
Norman Hackerman Building (NHB) porch and loading dock area will be conducting construction to repair it's the ceiling along with repairing lighting and stucco.
Project Location: The Construction Site is located on W 20th and W 21st Streets and Whitis and University Avenues.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian Impacts: No impacts at this time. Fall semester may indicate re-routes for pedestrians to the South Side of W 24th St along the NHB patio if we have a heavy construction debris. Coordination with graphic and wayfinding will be posted and advised.
Travel Impacts: Two dumpsters will be use, one for each location. The one for the patio will be located in the street against the curb allowing traffic in one lane. Fire marshall has approved the location as long as one lane remains open.
Bicycle Impacts: The project will not impact existing bike lanes or bike racks. There are no designated bike lanes around this project. Bicyclists are always encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Parking Impacts: The project will not impact bicycles.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
