Project Dates
Project Summary: Accessibility improvements are underway along the West Mall, including leveling uneven walkways and replacing the stairs and ADA ramps connecting the West Mall and Guadalupe Street. Work is scheduled from July 28 through Aug. 18.
Construction will occur in two phases. Access between the West Mall and Guadalupe Street will remain open throughout construction; however, pedestrian routes will change during each phase. Please refer to the phase maps below for the current pedestrian and ADA route.
PHASE ONE:
Pedestrian/ADA Access Impacts: The stairs and the south ADA ramp will be closed. Pedestrians traveling between the West Mall and Guadalupe Street should use the north ADA ramp.
A section of the sidewalk adjacent to Goldsmith Hall (GOL) will also be closed. Pedestrians exiting the west entrance of GOL should travel south on the existing sidewalk to reach the Guadalupe Street sidewalk.
Please refer to the map below.
PHASE TWO:
Pedestrian/ADA Access Impacts: The north ADA ramp will be closed. Individuals requiring an accessible route should use the south ADA ramp. The south side of the stairs will remain open for pedestrian use.
Please refer to the map below.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
