Project Description

Project Summary

Enhancements to the irrigation infrastructure, including trenching, sleeving, and piping, along with landscape improvements such as new plantings, will be taking place across the Main Mall. Key focus areas include the Battle Hall North and East beds, Upper Tower loggia beds, Lower Tower beds, and the East and West Flag Courts.

Project Location: Main Mall

Major Anticipated Outcomes/Benefits of Completed Project: The irrigation improvements will enhance water management across the campus and provide infrastructure for future developments. New plantings will improve the visitor experience along the Main Mall.

Pedestrian Impacts: Pedestrian walkways may be intermittently blocked during trenching in some areas, but alternative paths will always be available to ensure access.

Travel Impacts: Throughout the project, vehicular paths may be temporarily blocked in some areas, but alternative routes will always remain accessible.

Bicycle Impacts: Some bike lanes will be temporarily blocked due to trenching, but detours will be provided. Bicyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.

Parking Impacts: No parking will be impacted, except for contractors or facilities personnel who may regularly park at the Main Mall.

Bus Routes: Buses will not be affected. Please refer to the CapMetro schedule and map.

Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
