Exciting internship opportunities in Planning, Design, and Construction are on the horizon for Summer 2025!
These internships offer invaluable hands-on experience in the dynamic field of project management. The real-world projects these interns will be supporting are on campus, so participants will not only gain insights into the Planning, Design, and Construction processes but will also contribute to the ongoing advances in your UT Austin facilities. This program is open to all UT Austin architectural and engineering students, both undergraduate and graduate.

Rate: $20 per hour

Job Summary/Details: Supporting Project Managers as needed
Communicate close out status on assigned projects to PM team and all stakeholders.
Complete closeout checklist activities as directed by Closeout Coordinator.
Create and manipulate PowerPoint, Excel and other files in support of project status presentations for stakeholders.
Attend project coordination meetings, financial status reviews and punch list walkthroughs.
Communicate with stakeholders on return of project funds and any warranty or latent defect issues.
Prepare project reports, photo documentation, and maintain projects files and records.

Job Details:
- Assist the CA in review of project scope, schedule, and budget coordinating with the PM
Observe the CA in communicating project progress to the project team
Observe the CA in their discussions of changes to scope, schedule, or budget
Observe the CA in reviewing the project’s schedule of values to evaluate adherence to schedule and budget and the pay application.
Observe and attend punch lists walks with the CA and the completion of punch items.
Attend pre-construction meeting and regular onsite construction meetings.
Facilitate pre-installation meetings between contractor and subcontractors.
Lead pre-construction and regular job site construction meetings.
Coordinate construction activities with campus stakeholders.
Coordinate with campus when site visits, inspections, noise control, traffic control, security or utility outages are required by the work.
Monitor Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Best Management Practices and posted notifications,
Observe CA conducting weekly observations and follow-up on correction of noted non-compliance by contractor.
Observe CA monitoring project close-out procedures and deliverables, including O&M manuals, current and accurate as-builts, record documents, punch lists, and warranty walk-through within the one-year warranty period.
Assist CA in preparing project reports, photo documentation, and maintain projects files and records.
Working conditions include outdoor work in all weather conditions.
