JES Dock Concrete Spalling Repairs

Project Summary

The east exterior corridor of the Beauford H. Jester Center is undergoing repairs to address structural concrete, improve drainage, and install new waterproofing, concrete topping, and brick support.
 

Project Location: East exterior corridor of Beauford H. Jester Center (JES) that connects Jester City Limits food court (JCL) to Jester East Residence Hall (JCD).

Project Impacts

Pedestrian and ADA Access Impacts: Due to the exterior corridor being closed, the east entrance into JES will be unavailable. Pedestrians traveling to JES from JCD will need to enter the building with card access through the south side entrance (the entrance facing Brazos Garage).

Pedestrians traveling from East 21st Street will need to enter the building through the north entrance of JES (the entrance facing Gregory Gym) or the northeast entrance. All entrances mentioned are ADA-compliant.

Travel Impacts: No impacts.

Bicycle Impacts: No impacts. Bicyclists are always encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.

Parking Impacts: No impacts.

Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if changes are necessary.
