Project Impacts
The turtle ponds outside of the Biological Laboratories building will undergo repairs. The project entails coordination with College of Natural Sciences for turtle removal and relocation, pond drain and clean, concrete spall repairs, installation of a pond liner, and minor habitat improvements.
Project Location: The three exterior turtle ponds are located on the south side of the Biological Laboratories building.
Project Impacts
Pedestrian Impacts: Pedestrian traffic is not expected to be impacted, as the concrete sidewalks adjacent to streets around the ponds will remain open. Portions of the gravel pathways adjacent to ponds will be fenced off to protect the project area.
Bicycle Impacts: No impacts. Bicyclists are encouraged to refer to the City of Austin Bike Map.
Parking Impacts: Parking along the south side of the ponds (along the north side of Inner Campus Drive) will be utilized for construction deliveries, crews, and debris removal. For parking alternatives, visit the Campus Parking Map.
Signage will be installed at key locations to assist with wayfinding. Due to the fluid nature of construction, this information is subject to change, but we will do our best to provide timely communication if necessary.
